Splatoon 2 Global Testfire turf war is here!

Hello Malice-Corp.  If you’ve been keeping up, Splatoon 2 Global Testfire is here and now is your chance to try out the game on the Nintendo Switch.

Fresh off 3 rounds, and 2 modes of Switch play styles I’m here to give you a bit of gameplay update.

Splatoon 2 Global Testfire Gameplay

When you log into the demo for the first time during the Global Testfire, it will give you a basic tutorial. I started in handheld mode. Just like the Wii U game pad on the first Splatoon, you’ll use the screen as your screen camera orientation. Once the demo is completed you’ll be greeted with a choice of 4 weapons. Choose wisely and then you’ll be qued for gameplay.

Splatoon 2

As someone who got serious motion sickness from the first Splatoon, that issue is no longer there. If you’re keeping score, round 1 was lost. Round 2 played in handheld was won. Round 3 I switched it up and used the pro controller in tabletop mode. We lost that round.

The pro controller works similar to tablet mode. You use the controller as your camera orientation. It’s the same buttons to shoot ink, become a squid and throw bombs. Based on the tutorial, it looks like the joy cons in the joycon grip will work the same way. Both were easy to adjust to.

Splatoon 2

Just like the first Splatoon, after each match you get your stats. The map shows up first. Judd shows up next and then you get to find out bad or good you scored.

Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 was easier to control, less motion sickness issues, and was a blast to play. See on the turf this summer with all the new features. There’s still time left if you want to get in on the action.
