Nerd Fight Poll: Favorite Doctor Who Villain?

Hello all you Geek Enthusiasts and Nerd Aficionados!

We are back with another poll for this week. Last week saw the fight for favorite TV/Movie Father figure. Richard Castle just overtook Papa Kent to snag the victory. You can see the results of last week’s poll posted by Me. On each week’s podcast the Malice Corp crew will each choose who they want to put in the ring. Winner from the previous weeks poll gets to pick first in the new weeks poll. This week we are delving back into the Doctor Who pool.

With the finale of Doctor Who approaching, we are coming up to a new regeneration of the doctor. New show-runners, writers and maybe even companion are on the way. But before we say goodbye to these people who have helped shape new who, we have one more appearance by one of the more prominent villains the doctor has squared off again. The return of the Master is upon us. The twit being we will see both John Simm and Michelle Gomez’s master in the same episode. So it should be fun to witness. So now we bring the poll to you, who is YOUR personal favorite villain? Here are your contestants.

The Master:

Though they had been friends from childhood and schoolmates at the Academy, the Master’s lust for power would eventually pull the two apart. The Doctor and the Master would sometimes remain close friends despite their rivalry. The Master developed an intense hatred for and often sought to kill the Doctor, who came to regard the Master as his arch-enemy. Because he is a Time Lord as well, he has had many versions played by many talented actors and actress.

The Cybermen:

The Cybermen were a “race” of cybernetically augmented humanoids. They frequently attempted to physically and mentally re-engineer humans and other humanoids into Cybermen, via a process called “cyber-conversion” or “upgrading.” They have appeared all throughout Classic and New Who as adversaries of the Doctor.

Vashta Nerada:

Literally called, “the shadows that melt the flesh”, were swarming, carnivorous beings which were found on most planets. The most terrifying thing about them is you can’t see them coming until someone is already dead. In large numbers, they could strip a creature to its bare bones in milliseconds. The Doctor believed they had no weaknesses, and the only thing to do was to run.

The Daleks:

Perhaps the most well known adversary of the Doctor. Daleks were a warrior race made up of genetically engineered mutants who were originally from the planet Skaro. On many occasions, the Daleks openly acknowledged the Doctor as their greatest enemy. They started the Time War with Gallifrey, which led to the Doctor thinking he destroyed Gallifrey to end the war.

Weeping Angels:

The Weeping Angels were an extremely powerful species of quantum-locked humanoids. Their unique nature necessitated that they often covered their faces with their hands to prevent trapping each other in petrified form for eternity by looking at one another. They were known for being “kind” psychopaths, eradicating their victims “mercifully” by dropping them into the past and letting them live out their full lives. This, in turn, allowed them to live off the remaining time energy of the victim’s life. To some this is crueler then death having to live a life away from your loved ones in a different time.

Satan (Devil’s Pit):

Satan, usually known as the Devil, was, according to Toby Zed, “fury and rage and death.” To the Doctor, the Devil is merely an idea given by religions throughout existence. Whatever it was, it had a powerful enough psychic presence to control the peaceful Ood on the space station, turning them into a murderous beings.
