Let’s Talk Dead – The Walking Dead from AMC

Let’s Talk Dead – The Walking Dead

I was thinking before I started talking about the TV show I’d talk a little about myself first, and why I want to talk about The Walking Dead. Anyone that knows me knows I had a big fear of anything zombies. The Night of the Living Dead was a movie that gave me nightmares more then Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elem Street. I do love my horror movies, but anything with zombies in it would get me to sleep with the lights on.

So, a few years back I had a friend that I played Aion with ( non-zombie game). She talked me into playing Left 4 Dead with her. She had help me get over my fear of zombies by making me kill them in that game. I was also talked into The Walking Dead and from then on, I’ve become a fan of the show. I did just finish up the season last Sunday and now I am stuck waiting for the next season which will not be back on AMC until October. Yes, we have to wait to find out what happens, and we’re left with another cliff hanger, which any fan knows the writers like to do to us.

The Game

As I do plan to keep this a long lasting ,thing I write about, I plan to talk about my views starting back at Season 1 where we get to meet Rick, his son and his wife Lori, along with the rest of the cast. But, that will have to wait for next time. Yes, like the show, I want to keep you with cliff hangers. For now, I plan to talk about the video game which is made by Telltale that came out April 24th, 2012.  You can currently find it on steam. It’s a game that you can play on your PC, Xbox, and PS3. It is a fun game to play.

I do like the style and look of the game. It almost looks like you’re playing a comic book. Plus, the fact that you can pick how you want to go with the story line. The game is done by season and episodes. You start out in the first season playing as Lee Everett, and like the comic books and TV show, each person in the game comes with a back story. Lee is a history teacher but had a bad run in with his wife. This lands him in the back of a cop car on his way to jail in Atlanta, Georgia just as the zombie out break happens.

The Story

As the story goes on, you meet Clementine, who is left with a babysitter from then on. Lee and Clem become part of groups and work on getting to  some where safe. But, we are in a world of zombies, so nowhere is safe. As the season ends for the game, you get left with a real heart break as you find yourself switch from playing as Lee to Clem, which then the second season starts with you as Clem. Yes, you end up playing as a 9 year old little girl and from them on your faced with many troubles and turns.

But, before you start off the season as Clem, you may want to play the spin off season “300 days.” As you play each person from that season, you find them all again in season 2 with Clem. I would say if you have the time, start playing it as soon as you can. It’s a lot of fun and I did enjoy it as much as I love watching The Walking Dead TV show.

Comic Books!!

Yes, The Walking Dead TV show did start out as a comic book series created by Robert Kirkman. The first issue was back in 2003 and yes, the TV show is based off the comic books. I hate to say that I have not read them, but I do plan to get them so I can. Because, (spoiler) they did change it a little so I hear. So, I like to know what is the difference between the TV show and the comic books. I do hear they’re a good read, so I can’t wait to get my hands on them. Hint Hint Jack Malice….. So, yes, as I get them I plan to share my views on them as well and can’t wait to talk about them.

Until Next Time….

I know, crazy that a person with a real fear of zombies goes from fear to a love for them. But, always have a zombie plan. You never know, like the TV show, we could end up in a world of zombies. The question I’d then ask you is “How many people have you killed? Why?” Lucky for me, I have the smartest man alive as my husband, and he has a pretty good aim. So, I think I’m good if we ever find our lives in a world of zombies.

Stay tuned my zombie lovers, my views on season 1 of The Walking Dead will be coming to you soon. Oh, and yes, I will be spoiling the show if you have not seen it so check it out on Netflix. You have been warned! You can find Season 1 to 6 there. Till next time, keep moving, keep calm, and stay quite. As always stay safe.
