Crazy Moments Courtesy of the 4th Doctor
If you are a fan of Doctor Who, especially the classic episodes, there are moments in each series where a person says, “WTF just happened?” Here are my favorite moments from the 4th Doctor that still has my head spinning.
-Wearing Sherlock Holmes costume in the Talons of Weng-Chiang
-Adric, seriously Adric, (the Westley Crusher of his time).
-The doctor wearing the traditional Gallifreyan Bullet hat and Orange Tin Can Collar in Deadly Assassin
-Not calling Romana, “Fred”
-Trusting the Master in Logopolis
-Skipping rope with Dr. Harry Sullivan
-The Nimon from Horns of the Nimon. Ridiculous Nimon costume.
-Playing chess with K9 and Leela
-Letting Sarah Jane Smith leave the TARDIS
-Using a jelly baby to threaten a member of the Seveteam (Comedy Genius)
-Love the yo-yo from Robots of Death
-750 year old Man Baby running the TARDIS (sensuous bastard!)
-The Doctor wears a “pirate shirt”
-Smallest TARDIS console evah
-Making the doctor wear a bed sheet in The Deadly Assassin. However it does look like an evening gown too.
-Doctor Cactus in Meglos
-John Cleese and Eleanor Bron discussing the TARDIS as a piece of art in the Louvre (City of Death)
Of course that is not a complete list. The production values in the late 70s and early 80s left a bad aftertaste. However, in the new series, they must have filmed that gravel pit from all angles now and used the same hospital in several episodes. Still, those details make the show good because the actors work around the limitations and still produce a good product. Stay Nerdy out there until next time!
